What is a MyChoice Debit Card?
It’s just like a normal Debit Card, except you get to choose the photo or image that appears on the card. Of course, there are image guidelines, but as long as your image complies with those basic rules, you can create a debit card that’s unique to you.
What if I’m not a Home State Bank customer?
You will need a Home State Bank checking account with a debit card in order to create a MyChoice Debit Card. If you would like to open a Home State Bank Checking Account , please visit any Home State Bank location.
How do I customize the design of my card?
Card personalization is easy with our online card design lab. Just
follow these simple instructions:
Do I need any special equipment to order the card?
You just need a computer with access to the Internet and Adobe Flash installed.
Can I preview or store my uploaded images online?
You will only be able to preview your uploaded image(s) during the personalized design process. Once you close out of the design program, the images you uploaded are not stored. Therefore, it is important for you to complete the card design process before closing out, as each time you open the program you will have to start the process over from the beginning.
After 15 minutes of idleness, your design session will time-out, and you will receive a “Session Expired” notice. If you see this notice before you submit your design and receive a confirmation, you will need to restart the design process.
Once your image has been approved, Home State Bank will keep the image on file for five years. If you choose to remove your personalization or select a new design, your original image will no longer be available.
How will I know if my image is accepted or rejected?
Every submitted image is reviewed and must follow our Image Guidelines. You will only receive an email if your image was rejected.
What if the image I submitted isn’t accepted?
We’ll notify you by email if there’s a problem with your image, and you’ll have the opportunity to submit another photo. In most cases, it may be as simple as selecting an image that isn’t trademarked or under copyright. You will not be charged the $10 design cost until your photo is accepted. The service may be revoked from any person who continually submits images that violate our Image Guidelines .
How will I receive my customized debit card?
Your card will be mailed to you and will arrive within 2-3 weeks. You can continue using your current card until your MyChoice Debit Card arrives; destroy your old card once you receive and activate your new Card.
What if I did not receive my new debit card?
Please contact any of our Home State Bank locations to confirm the status of your card order.
What should I do once I have received my new debit card?
Activate your new card immediately. The expiration date and CV2 on your card has changed. Please inform any merchants with whom you have setup recurring payments of the new expiration date and CV2 to ensure that your payments continue without interruption.
Does personalizing my debit card change my card number?
No. Only your expiration date and CV2 will change. If you have any merchants set up for recurring payments through your card, you will need to notify the merchant of the change in your expiration date and CV2 when your debit card arrives.
Will creating a MyChoice debit card change my expiration date?
Yes. Your MyChoice Debit Card(s) will come with a different expiration date. If you have any merchants set up for recurring payments through your card, you will need to notify the merchant of the change in your expiration date when your card arrives.
Does personalizing my debit card change my PIN?
No, your Home State Bank debit card PIN will not change. If you would like to change the PIN, you can do so by calling 1-800-992-3808.
How many times can I change the image on my debit card?
You can change the image on your card as often as you would like. A $10.00 fee will be charged for each new MyChoice Debit Card design you order. Simply use the Card Designer to create and submit a new card design and then just follow the instructions presented to you after you exit the Card Designer.
Can my joint account holders design their own debit cards, too?
Sure! Every card associated with the account can be customized by the individual cardholder for an optional cost of $10 per card. See your local Home State Bank office for details.
What happens when my MyChoice debit card expiries and is re-issued?
If you do nothing, then your re-issued card will have your current image. If you would like to change the image on your re-issued card, then simply use the Card Designer to create and submit a new card design- prior to the first business day of your card expiration month -and then follow the instructions presented to you after you exit the Card Designer.
Where does the image need to be stored?
Your image needs to be stored somewhere on your computer’s hard drive where it can be uploaded to our design lab.
What if I can't upload the photo electronically, can I send a hard copy?
No, Custom Debit Card designs can only be created through submission online.
What if the image on the MyChoice Debit Card I received is not the image I requested or does not look as I expected it to?
We want you to be happy with your Debit Card. Please contact us at (320) 231-1118 and ask for Alicia or Allison to discuss how we can remedy your concerns.
How much will it cost me to get a MyChoice Debit Card?
Uploaded photo images must meet these criteria:
File Format: JPG, GIF, PNG, TIFF or BMP
Resolution: a minimum of 300 dots-per-inch (DPI) or higher is recommended for best results
File Size: cannot exceed 4 megabytes (MB) or 4,000 kilobytes (KB)
Use a high quality photo from your digital camera-the better your photo the better your card will look. Low resolution photos, photos that are too small in dimensions, scanned photos, photos that are resized/stretched, and/or very dark or very light photos will not produce a quality card image.
Use a straight-on full-head image and zoom in on your face. Do not wear sunglasses or other items that could detract from your clear identity. Use a photo with a light-colored and single-color backdrop for best results.
To upload an image, the image file must be located on a storage device that is accessible by the personal computer on which you are viewing the MyCard Creation designer website.
Home State Bank reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether a submitted image will be accepted or rejected. All images submitted must have the consent of the owner including those images downloaded from the internet. Home State Bank will reject images that contain any of the following:
